One of the most attractive aspects of ikats from Uzbekistan is the daring colour combinations. This lovely silk ikat panel is made up of five colours and certainly lives up to that. The pale green field is filled with flame-like motifs in magenta red each with with yellow, aubergine and magenta details. A blue appears in the centre of the secondary ornaments. It is a striking composition which would make a graphic contribution to any decorative setting. There are a few splits in the fabric so mounting is recommended. This piece would make a stunning piece of wall art.
